Centrally located in picturesque Marin County, Corte Madera is only 7 miles from the world famous Golden Gate Bridge and all the excitement that San Francisco has to offer, or you can choose to get to the City via a leisurely and scenic ferry boat ride. From Corte Madera, you are only minutes away from the scenic Marin Headlands and the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. For an afternoon adventure, you can explore Muir Woods, Mt. Tamalpais, and the beautiful sandy beaches of the California coast. A half hour drive north will take you to the world-renowned Napa and Sonoma Wine Country, making day trips comfortably within reach from your inviting Corte Madera central location.
Closer to your home base, Corte Madera also harbors a unique area of tranquility and wildlife, the Corte Madera Ecological Reserve. The reserve provides feeding and nesting areas for migrating meadowlarks, great egrets, snowy egrets, avocets, and sandpipers. Just north of the Village is Shorebird Marsh, a 31 acre wildlife habitat. On the southeastern end of town is a significant area of designated open space overlooking the bay, the Ring Mountain Preserve.
Remember too that Corte Madera enjoys an average temperature of 60 degrees, a winter reading of between 40 and 50 degrees, with the average summer days in the 70's.
